On Thursday, October 3, 2013 members of the German American Chamber of Commerce California attended the Day of Unity celebration at the German Consulate General in Los Angeles. Hosted by the German Consul Dr. Bernd Fischer and his wife, Jutta, a record of approximately 500 guests attended the event.
The German Consul Dr. Bernd Fischer opened the event with a warm welcome, thanking all of the sponsors, including the German American Chamber of Commerce California for their contributions which make these events so successful. He continued on to spoke about the relations between Germany, Europe and the U.S.
The Day of Unity celebration was in full German style. Guests could enjoy multiple German specialties such as, sauerkraut and Kassler, Currywurst, Spaghetti-Eis, German beer and Jägermeister cocktails. Besides the wonderful specialties, there was also time to mingle with the guests and strengthen the German-American relationship.
