Peggy Fleming grew up in Germany. In 2004, she moved to San Diego, a city she deeply cares about. She is the President of German American Chamber of Commerce California where she leads the transatlantic business program which supports German businesses coming to the U.S. and vice versa. She believes in the idea of combining the wonderful potential of both worlds in order to further job growth and prosperity. The many binational projects in the field of alternative energy that have expanded throughout the San Diego area are just a few successful examples. GACC California, under leadership of Ms. Fleming, is committed to the promotion of art and science by sponsoring various school and university projects in Germany and in San Diego.
Ms. Fleming is a long-time advocate of educational and cultural exchange and firmly believes that cultural exchange is one of the most important diplomacy tools available to us. More than a thousand U.S. companies have participated in the International Volunteer & Internship Program since 2006. Ms. Fleming currently serves on the Board of Directors for the World Trade Center San Diego. Additionally, she is the founder of the Germany based company PRAKTIKA GmbH. Today, www.praktika.de is one of Europe’s leading career portals that play a major role in the global recruitment of top talents. Previously, Ms. Fleming was the Executive Manager of Metabolic Balance, Inc., an international health company that originated in Isen nearby Munich, Germany and now is present in more than 35 countries. Ms. Fleming received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Germany as well as an MBA from the California International Business University in San Diego.
