Peggy Fleming
President

Peggy Fleming grew up in Germany. In 2004, she moved to San Diego, a city she deeply cares about. She is the President of German American Chamber of Commerce California where she leads the transatlantic business program which supports German businesses coming to the U.S. and vice versa. She believes in the idea of combining the wonderful potential of both worlds in order to further job growth and prosperity. The many binational projects in the field of alternative energy that have expanded throughout the San Diego area are just a few successful examples. GACC California, under leadership of Ms. Fleming, is committed to the promotion of art and science by sponsoring various school and university projects in Germany and in San Diego.

Ms. Fleming is a long-time advocate of educational and cultural exchange and firmly believes that cultural exchange is one of the most important diplomacy tools available to us. More than a thousand U.S. companies have participated in the International Volunteer & Internship Program since 2006. Ms. Fleming currently serves on the Board of Directors for the World Trade Center San Diego. Additionally, she is the founder of the Germany based company PRAKTIKA GmbH. Today, www.praktika.de is one of Europe’s leading career portals that play a major role in the global recruitment of top talents. Previously, Ms. Fleming was the Executive Manager of Metabolic Balance, Inc., an international health company that originated in Isen nearby Munich, Germany and now is present in more than 35 countries. Ms. Fleming received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Germany as well as an MBA from the California International Business University in San Diego.

Christiane Perleberg
Chairman of the Board of Directors

Christiane Perleberg has served as an Board member for the GACC California since 2008. Having studied economic- and social sciences and having a career in market research, she believes that business exchange between Germany and the US should be continuously expanded and actively supports German companies becoming active in the U.S., as well as American companies entering Germany/European markets.

After years of experience working in the field of pharma-marketing research and consulting in Europe, she became self-employed in 1995. Her long-term knowledge in strategic consulting in pharma- and life science has brought her to be a part of a global marketing team. She has offices in San Diego, Hamburg / Germany and Barcelona / Spain.

International focus and business-related spirit and with the objective of promotion have resulted in a variety of spin-off companies (www.ppp-health-research.comSearchlight.de; Head-to-Toe Market-Research, Inc.). Issues of market management, conception and implementation of workshops, the confrontation and realization of newer marketing research tools are also in her area of expertise.

Jonathan Capp
Member of the Board of Directors

Jonathon C. Capp serves on the Board of Directors of the German American Chamber of Commerce California.

Born and raised in England, Mr. Capp obtained his law degree from the prestigious University of London Kings College School of Law. Mr. Capp then studied at the Sorbonne (University of Paris 1) for two years where he obtained his Masters degree (Maitrise Française) in International and French law. Mr. Capp then attended the mandatory one year barrister training course at the Inns of Court School of Law in London in 1990 after which he was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a member of the Lincoln’s Inn of Court, London, England (1990).

Mr. Capp completed his mandatory pupilage or apprenticeship as a barrister in London and Manchester, England (1991) whereupon he proceeded to practice as a Barrister or specialist advocate/trial lawyer throughout England and Wales prior to relocating to California in 1995.

Fluent in English, French, and German, Mr. Capp has been counseling and representing clients from all over the world for over 20 years in matters of international, business, and immigration law.

Mr. Capp is currently a member in good status with the Bar of England and Wales, The State Bar of California, and the State Bar of New York.
