Nineteen leaders from San Diego and nationwide biotech organizations came together at the Alexandria Technology Center in La Jolla for the 3rd time to move the BIO 2014 preparations forward. BIO, the world’s largest biotech conference, is taking place in San Diego from June 23 to 26, 2014.
According to official host committee member, Christiane Perleberg from German American Chamber of Commerce California, … “the preparations are on track, exhibitor space is almost sold and registrations as well as sponsorships are in as planned”.
New this year, and available to every attendee, is the BIO 2014 networking button. Visitors can chose to put a button on signalizing that it is okay to be approached. The buttons are of various colors based for instance on your industry and other criteria.
Furthermore, volunteer opportunities were discussed. 150 Volunteers are needed for BIO 2014. This is a great opportunity for students and young professionals to get involved and receive free access to the conference. The deadline to apply as a volunteer is April 8, 2014. Again, volunteers receive free access to the entire conference. This is a $1395 value. See: http://convention.bio.org/volunteer_application/ Please contact German American Chamber of Commerce California if you would like to apply as a volunteer. After an initial review, we will submit your application to the BIO review committee.
